"How many times have you lived only to die in misery? How many times have you learned that it all leads to nothing? And yet you continue to struggle. Just like in the past."

I.
Born to a lower ranking Ishgardian noble family, Viktus was the youngest and only son.
Viktus has little memory to his name. He remembers only of the tears streaking down his face as he’s torn away from a warm embrace. The cries of the pirates as he’s hefted into the arms of strangers. He remembers the harsh labor, of blisters forming in his palms and nights he passes out to sleep from hunger. He remembers the water swallowing him whole, robbing him of breath as the darkness crept in. Helpless, small and weak as he sunk, deeper and deeper.Viktus doesn’t remember how he was alive, being tended to by healers within Limsa Lominsa. It was odd to find a duskwight stranded in sea, more so to survive such currents. Perhaps some greater beings had watched over his broken body and saved him. Yet surviving did little to bide the nightmares of drowning, nor the sight of the sea and sea salt in the air aided in his mind healing from the trauma. Thus, to help find his origin, the Grand Company brought him to Gridania. A change of pace could perhaps jog his memory back to bring the child back to where he came from. The lush forests of Gridania welcomed him, left under the care of the Twin Adder as he healed. His memory never returned, kept under lock and key.II.
As a Duskwight and foreigner, Viktus grew up alone and ostracized. It took time for him to heal, his mind clinging to the small pockets of happiness that his caretakers and the few Adders that were nice to him. This left him to wander around, a trait that would cause him a second brush with death.
He lived, with a scar running along his left cheek and the stern look of an older elezen. Viktus was prepared to receive another scolding, it seemed customary for Duskwights to be the sort end of spite. In the succeeding days, the older elezen became Viktus’s father figure, teaching him about the forest, the elementals, and the beasts that lurk about. He took it all in with much gusto, rapt with attention, and eager to please the person who was tending to him.In two summers, the adolescent eagerly held his first lyre. A gift from Jehnatel himself. His calloused fingers took time to be gentle with the strings.III.
The summers come and go, and Viktus grows out of his boyish youth with songs on his tongue. The bow and the lyre are his constant companions as he makes his way back to Limsa Lominsa, eager to unearth the story he’d long buried.
The change of the woodland to the sparse grass of the plains did little to ease the anxiety from the sea salt in the air but the elezen was eager to find his origins.Though his abhorrent sense of direction leads him to the Marauder’s guild, having a tome pushed onto his waiting arms. Left with curiosity, Viktus pours his attention to learning the intricate craft of healing in such a manner. With little avail though the guidance of the books they've handed him helped me create balms and tinctures to keep himself alive during his lonesome travels. In his wandering, Viktus finds himself lost in the wide terrains of Thanalan. Seeking refuge in Uldah, he strives for coin barding in the alleys. It's due to this event that he now works for a certain establishment as an apothecarist.---As Viktus grew, thin lines of aether etched onto his dark skin. Faint at first but the more he was attached to an individual did they glow under his skin, light with leaves decorating the stems.Certain nights it was harmless, and on others, the pain was far too excruciating to deal with. He’d dream of different people; of different places he’s never visited. It left him pained, tired, and aversive to company. Viktus grew to be distant, guarded against letting people in and undoing the walls he’d built. With little to no answers, he continues to wander across Eorzea. He makes his way to the desert laden cities of Thanalan, having heard of the shrines for his deity.Though not religious, he hopes the sliver of devotion can shed some answers to the curse entangled in his soul.

Viktus is the seventh life of a wanderer. Prior to his adventure to Coerthas, he has no memory of his past lives.

Hooks

Words in a Song
As one taught with the art of song, Viktus has a penchant in creating poems and stringing music. However having a deep voice and being a Duskwight, he's quite mindful of how he sings - which isn't often. If you are kind enough to ask, he may sing for you, or perhaps the hefty weight of coin can tempt him further.
Burning the Midnight Candle
A wandering mind does no one any favors. Spent from his travels, Viktus has an unhealthy habit of reading numerous books to fill the gaps of his loneliness. This bodes well with his desire to learn the arts of healing. He spends most of his days staying up all night and waking up far too early for his own good.
Cursed
White vine-like aether slowly etch on his skin as time passes by. Every time he harbors affection for someone, affliction comes upon them thus he's learned to live a solitary life. The more he cared for people, the more the vines grew and hurt.
Temperate Drinker
Viktus is not accustomed to partaking in alcohol thus can be inebriated quite easily. He is not too keen with strong spirits as a single glass can ease his barriers a notch.
Sentimental Trinkets
Viktus enjoys crafting small items that remind him of people. He collects bits and pieces in his adventure to craft a small tool or accessory that he will gift to an individual he cares for dearly.

Fear of the Water
Despite the absence of his memories, Viktus has a fear of the open sea which makes him unable to stand the sight of deep waters. Though he is capable of swimming, he prefers clear waters. This fear has made him averse in fishing.
Botanical Interest
After having been saved by a conjurer in his youth, Viktus has developed a keen interest in flora. His near obsession has brought him around Eorzea, collecting herbs and plants to grow. Though not one to stay in one place too long, the elezen makes good use of his temporary home to foster plants to aid him in his ventures.
Odd Visage
Viktus has notable grayish skin, which makes him an odd fellow in the forests of Gridania. More so, his dual-colored eyes are uncommon to elezens. Scars litter his body, a souvenir of his many lone adventures. If one is aether sensitive, they would see the aether vines along his skin.
Tonic or Toxic
Having been employed for his knowledge in herbology, Viktus has spent his time recovering studying the arvchives in the consortium he works for. He's delved his time into concocting potions, as well as other mixtures that dare not be consumed by mortals. A trade for gil, much safer than barding along unknown streets.

Alternate Universe

幾翔 (イクト・Ikuto)Age: ~27 in 'mortal years'
Occupation: Apothecarist, Record keeper
Key Traits: Perceptive, knowledgeable, very poor sense of direction
--
Born into a very conservative Tengu tribe, Ikuto was born to a lower noble family. The youngest son and soon to be heir of the family was sooner cast out once he grew white wings. White wings were rare, more so an oddity to the Tengu who naturally had black feathers for their wings.Under normal circumstances, Ikuto would be killed to avoid earning the wrath of the Gods but due to his family’s pleas he was sooner adopted by the monks. To avoid further gossip and to steer the child away from the public’s scrutiny, he grew up within the temple. Stripped of his family name, the child lived only as ‘Ikuto’, to fly high in the sky.An endeavor he can never have.Under the guise of evening and on nights where the moon shone upon the sky, the young tengu would head out to gather herbs or merely sneak off to avoid the stifling life of a cloistered youth. He has never known the touch of sand beneath his feet, feared the deep oceans and lingered close to the mountains due to the foliage they offered. To fend off the beasts during his trips, Ikuto learned the art of the bow. Not the best in fletching an arrow while flying but enough to fend off what can be dealt with.As the years went by, Ikuto matured into a demon with pursed lips, piercing mismatched eyes and the smell of herbs following his steps. No longer chained to the temple, his mentor has brought him along with him to visit towns who seek aid from monks and ascetics.Once he has passed the merits of his master, Ikuto ventures as a traveling apothecarist. Though he hides his wings through glamour, a feat he is not to found of, he has stitched himself into the mortal community as a stern individual. He keeps to himself, offering aid to those who seek his mending and balms. Through his odd service, he's lived off much of his life alone within a shack, malms away from towns. His odd lifestyle and looks have garnered some stares but curious mouths were easily silenced with a glare.

馮 奕晨 (Féng Yi Chén)
Age: 35 years old
Occupation: General
Key Traits: Ruthless, Calculating, Venerable
--
Born as the first son of a small migrant family, Yichen was taken away from his family to become a child soldier. Growing up, he was led to believe he was only made for war and to kill anything that stood in the emperor's path. Due to his upbringing, the young elezen was detached from normalcy and emotions.
Yichen rose to the rank of general from his prowess in the battlefield, his weapon of choice a broadsword to which he replaced in the future with a scythe. His weapon and prowess in sweeping off the enemies from his excursions earned him the title of 'Reaper' within the ranks.Despite the path of bloodshed he made, Yichen had settled down with a wife and unborn child on the way. They unfortunately perished to bandits raiding his home while he was away during one of his war excursions. This left him bitter and threw himself into war to distract his thoughts from 'living'.In one of his ventures, he came across a village that had fallen to the enemy soldiers. He found the young viera An Rui, whom he adopted and trained. He fondly calls him his son, teasing his young charge and giving him that small reprieve of failing his family when they needed him the most.

Viktus (?)
Age: Unknown
Race: Dagan
Key Traits: Mischevious, Cunning, Quick to Boredom, Enjoys toying with Mortals
--
Viktus drowned upon escaping from his captors, his small body sinking into the inky abyss. Feeling sympathetic for the loss of a young life, the dagan takes hold of the boy’s body, taking control of it and concealing his true identity.
He slips into the boy’s existence like a second skin, washed ashore near the Salt Strand. Feigning the loss of memory, the dagan uses Viktus’s mortal coil as his means to venture along the land.Growing up within the outskirts of Limsa Lominsa, Viktus made a name for himself. The ideal individual for pirates and sailors to reach out to should they need some guidance to sail through the seas. Desperate for guidance, it was comical how many mortals had called him by his true name.Yet the dagon had his bouts of boredom, shaping legs into fins whenever he was eager to escape the land.At times he wondered when the gods would sunder a being such as him, but he could care less about being someone's pawn and living a carefree, if not sinister life. His mood shifts so quickly, like the waves. The Dagon enjoys toying with mortals, using his beguiling disguise to tempt them to their deaths or perhaps play with them before he devours them. Such is the life of a god, is it not?
